Boaters must now obtain boat license in Canada
Due to federal regulation changes, over 8 million recreational boaters must now obtain a Pleasure Craft Operator's Card to operate motorized
watercraft in Canada, including sea-doos and jet -skis.
BoaterExam.com® will be exhibiting at the Toronto International Boat Show at Exhibition Place, booth
E421, from January 11- 20, 2002, visit the booth to challenge the safe boating exam on site and/or obtain boating
safety training materials.
Pleasure Craft Operator Card exam available online
BoaterExam.com® identified the need for a web site where boaters can obtain a Pleasure Craft Operator's
Card in less than one hour on the Internet, as well as study safe boating material for free. Many boaters
are under the impression that they must take a 4-8 hour classroom boating safety course and pay anywhere
from $60-$180 for the safe boating course and the pleasure craft operator card exam. The favoured alternative is to study for free on the Internet
and take the safe boating exam online when ready, all from home, and for a fraction of the price.
BoaterExam.com® has successfully certified thousands of boaters across Canada, making it the #1 Internet
safe boating provider.
The story behind this two-year-old dot-com company is simple. Boaters can train, challenge the exam, print a temporary Pleasure Craft Operator
Card, and legally drive a boat within an hour of visiting www.boaterexam.com®. "We wanted to offer
an alternative certification process for boaters who don't have the time, or money to spend for a classroom
boating safety course, also for people living in rural communities where no safe boating courses
are offered, and certainly for experienced boaters who simply wish to challenge the exam", says Larry McNamee, President & CEO.
Internet boating safety course preferred alternative
"We've found that most boaters prefer to get certified over the Internet in the comfort of their own home, on their own schedule. Our biggest
challenge has been to build the awareness that you don't have to attend a boating safety course on someone
else's schedule," adds McNamee.
BoaterExam.com® is an accredited safe boating course provider of the Canadian Coast Guard
authorized to provide online boating safety training and certification.
